SEN Support
What Is SEN Support?
SEN Support is how your school helps you if learning feels tricky sometimes. It’s a way for teachers to understand what you need and give you the right help. There are four simple steps they follow: Assess, Plan, Do, Review.
Assess
Your teacher and the SENCo (that’s the person who helps with special learning needs) will chat about what you find hard and what you’re good at. They’ll listen to you and your parents to understand how best to help.
Plan
Next, they’ll make a plan just for you! It will say what kind of help you’ll get and what you’re working towards. You and your parents will be told all about it, and you’ll agree together on what you want to achieve and when.
Do
Now it’s time to put the plan into action! You’ll get the extra help you need, and your teacher will make sure everything is going well.
Review
Every term (that’s three times a year), you’ll have a meeting with your teacher and parents to talk about how things are going. You can say what’s working and what’s not, and they’ll make changes if needed.
