Ambitious about Autism - Starting your job search and learning to self-advocate

Details

Description

Looking for your first job can feel exciting, confusing and overwhelming. This interactive webinar is designed for autistic young people who want to begin their job search, understand the recruitment process and learn how to advocate for themselves when applying for jobs.
In this session, we'll explore:

How to get started with job searching
- What happens during a common recruitment process
- How to self-advocate and ask for adjustments

The webinar will be co-facilitated by an autistic young person who will share their own experiences of navigating the journey into employment. Their lived experience will help bring the topics to life and provide real-world insights into job searching, recruitment and self-advocacy. The session will also include interactive activities and real-life case studies.

We aim to validate lived experience, encourage self-belief and help autistic young people feel more empowered when navigating employment. Whether you're just beginning to think about work or already applying for jobs, this session will provide practical guidance and strategies you can use moving forward.

This webinar is primarily aimed at autistic young people aged 18–25 who are not currently in education, employment or training and who have little or no previous work experience.
